Part Time Firefighter/Paramedic

OVERVIEW

Cache County is looking for a part-time Firefighter/Paramedic to join our Fire District. This position will work 12 or 24 hour shifts as needed up to 29 hours a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Firefighter/Paramedic duties include, but are not limited to, responding to fire, medical, hazardous materials spills, and other emergencies; performing fire, rescue and hazardous materials evolutions and operate equipment necessary to deal with emergency situations within the departmental standards and within the Firefighter I Certification; providing Advanced Life Support first responder emergency medical care and assistance to victims of accidents, injuries, and illnesses; performing BLS and ALS life support, including CPR, cardiac monitoring, and defibrillation; administering medications via appropriate route per protocol.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, current Paramedic license, current certifications for: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider, Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider, and Utah Firefighter I.

Preferred certifications include: State of Utah Certified Firefighter II certification; Certified ADO (Apparatus, Driver, Operator); Certified Officer I; and NWCG Red Card Firefighter Type II.

This position also requires a valid driver's license and no convictions for driving under the influence or reckless driving within the previous 5 years or no more than 2 moving violations within the previous 24 months.
