As an Auxiliary Firefighter you will work a 12-hour shift covering the City days, nights and/or weekends, responding to requests for service and emergencies such as storms, medical emergencies, fires, and perform service work as needed. The Auxiliary Firefighter position works well for those superheroes looking for work outside of the traditional hours of 9-to-5. Auxiliary Firefighters must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Michigan Driver's License and safe driving record, possess the Michigan Fire Fighter I & II certifications, Michigan EMT license, and Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Certification. Candidates must also have the ability to pass the CPAT and NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800.
